About Central Zoo, Patan
Animal lovers must surely visit Patan’s Central Zoo for a glimpse of some interesting animals. It is the only zoo in Nepal and is operated by the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC). It houses around 106 species of birds and over 665 different animals and also some endangered species of Nepal such as Royal Bengal tigers, Indian one-horned Rhinoceros. There is also a pond inside the zoo where one can go for boating. Apart from this, the zoo has several other facilities such as Elephant rides, playground for children, fishing, library and also picnic spots. There is also an aquarium where one can see some subtropical fishes.
