About Akshaya Vat Tree
This is a banayan tree, and one of the most revered trees of the Hindu religion. Said to be the only living survivor of a momentary flood Lord Narayana used to prove his divine power, the tree was the only thing able to withstand the waters in the whole wide world. Tourists wishing to visit the tree need to seek permission first, as the fort which the tree and palace is houses, is still a working military complex.
