About Solang Valley
The Solang valley is located in Himachal Pradesh, near the popular hill station of Manali. Solang Valley perched along the Kullu valley in the North eastern mountains. The valley is not just popular for skiing and trekking but it also provides many more unique experiences. The valley which lies between Beas Kund and Solang village provides spectacular views of snow-capped peaks and frozen glaciers. Its lawn like slanting meadows and fresh air makes the place perfect for summer and winter activities. It also serves as a base camp for trekkers. Paragliding, Skiing, parachuting, zorbing etc. and many adventure activities can be enjoyed in this valley. Recently a rope-way was established here which has become quite popular among the tourists.
The valley offers a variety of activities to keep tourists engaged such as Paragliding, Zorbing, Quad Biking, Camping, and Snowmobiling. Apart from these activities, another major attraction at the Solang Valley is the Winter Skiing Festival. The festival is conducted at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports. It attracts thousands of skiers who enjoy sports like skiing, horse riding, and snow motorbiking.
While trekking is one of the best ways to explore the valley, travellers can also admire the valley from a height by taking a ride on a gondola or the Solang Ropeway.
After travelling around the valley, you can cure your hunger at any of the local eateries like Chopsticks, Fornos, Johnson’s Café, Toasted and Roasted and more. There are also many dhabas which tourists can visit to try local delicacies.
If your thirst for travelling has still not been quenched after visiting the valley, then you can wander onto nearby destinations. Some of the popular nearby tourist destinations are Kothi, Rohtang Pass, and Great Himalayan National Park.
