Catherine Falls on the Kallar river, are the second highest waterfalls(about 250 feet) in the Nilgiris moutain range. The falls can be seen in entirety and very clearly from the Dolphin's Nose. These falls were named after the wife of M.D. Cockburn, who introduced and developed coffee plantations in this area. The natives call the Catherine Falls as Geddhehaada Halla, meaning "Foothills Dale River".
