About Ujjaleswar
Ujjaleswar is a holy place situated 45 km from Berhampur. The temple of Ujjaleswar has been developed from a cave temple, it is now situated on a hilltop. There is a very big stone which shadows the deity, it forms the back side of the temple. This stone has been chiseled from here and there to make it easy for devotees to around the deity. Just before one reaches the temple premises one can see the Ghodahada dam which is known for having submerged an ancient ‘vijayanager fort’. This place is famous among nature loves as it is, biologically a diverse land nestling home to a huge variety of animal and plant species. Enjoy the experience of being in a place that is culturally, historically and ecologically rich.
