Sree Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur is a gurukul and considered to be one of the main attractions of Tumkur where around 8000 students are provided boarding, education and lodging free of cost. The place is a must visit for people believing in spirituality. A saint naming Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji is the present head of the mutt who assumes full responsibility and hold of this place. He is considered to be the walking god and the living legend of the place. The place is a good option to be visited if you are inquisitive about the educational institution. Mutt also runs a blind school where approximately 100 students are imparted education for free apart from accommodation and food.
For the daily visitors the ashram provides a simple place to spend the night at the rent of rupees 20 per head. The beautiful view of the ashram from the hill top and the sunset can easily grab anyone's attention towards it.
You won’t find any restaurant within the periphery of 2 KMs. Ashram provides food but the quality is compromised over quantity. It is understandable indeed if you looks at the number of the visitors.
