Dharamshala is a city in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, it is the second winter capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is surrounded by cedar forests and it lies on the edge of the Himalayas. Dharamshala is the home to Dalai Lama. Several thousand Tibetan exiles have now settled in the area and built several monasteries and schools. It is also the headquarters of the Central Tibetan Administration. Mcleodganj is a suburb in Dharamshala.
Suggested itinerary
Day 1:
- Start early in the morning from Amritsar to Dharamshala, which is approximately 200 kilometers away and takes around 4-5 hours by road.
- Upon reaching Dharamshala, check-in to your hotel and freshen up.
- Begin your sightseeing by visiting the Namgyal Monastery, which is the personal monastery of the Dalai Lama. It is a serene place where you can witness Tibetan Buddhist culture and explore the beautiful surroundings.
- After that, head to the Bhagsunag Temple and Bhagsu Waterfall. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and offers a peaceful ambiance. The waterfall is located a short trek away from the temple and is a popular attraction.
- In the evening, explore the local markets of Dharamshala, such as McLeod Ganj, where you can shop for Tibetan handicrafts, jewelry, and clothing. You can also try some delicious Tibetan cuisine in one of the local restaurants.
Day 2:
- Start your day by visiting the Kangra Fort, located about 20 kilometers from Dharamshala. It is one of the oldest and largest forts in India, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.
- Next, visit the Kangra Art Museum, which displays a rich collection of artifacts, paintings, and sculptures that represent the cultural heritage of the Kangra region.
- Afterward, proceed to the Norbulingka Institute, a center for preserving Tibetan art and culture. You can take a guided tour of the institute and witness traditional art forms like Thangka painting, wood carving, and metalwork.
- In the afternoon, visit the Dal Lake, a small and serene lake surrounded by lush greenery. You can enjoy a peaceful boat ride or take a leisurely walk around the lake.
- Finally, head back to Amritsar, concluding your Dharamshala sightseeing tour.

You can request a particular model while booking in \'Special Request\' and we try to provide it however you can not pick and choose exact car models. We operate only AC vehicles and hatchbacks are not available.
