About Paradesi Synagogue
The oldest active synagogue in India, the Paradesi Synagogue in Kochi is home to many interesting objects of antiquity including the Scrolls of the Law, copper plates from the 10th century, and a clock tower from the 18th century. But the most remarkable thing about this synagogue is its flooring, which is composed of hundreds of hand painted oriental tiles in porcelain.Amongst others are also gifted gold crowns and glass chandelairs from Belgium.
