About Konni
Konni is a village in the forests of Kerala at the banks of River Achankovil. The lush green lands have made the habitat conducive for the Elephants. Thus came into existence the Konni Elephant training center where the baby elephants are trained to be used for commercial use. It is interesting to see the wooden houses inside the training center, which are meant for the elephants. These are called Aanakoodu. Other places of interest include temples like the Muringamnagalam Sreemahadevar temple, Achankovil temple and the Aluvamkudi temple. Do visit the Kumbhavuruthy falls in the thick forest and enjoy the experience of trekking to the falls.
