Pathanamthitta is famous as the Pilgrim Capital of India as it is associated to Lord Ayeppa’s Sabrimala. The two famous festivals conducted in Sabarimala are the Mandalapooja and Makaravilakku which sees a rush of lots of pilgrims. Also adjoining Sabrimala everyone pays respect at the Pandalam where Lord Ayeppa reincarnated as a human. Pathanamthitta is famous for the Parthasarthi Temple which is famous for its Aranmula snake boat races during Onam attracts lots of pilgrims as well as the travelers.
