About Pragati Maidan
A venue with 150 acres of exhibit area, Pragati Maidan is an important attraction in Delhi. Pragati Maidan is fringed by Bhairon Road on south and Mathura Road on its East. Gate number 1 of Maidan oversees, Purana Qila, a historic monument. Situated in central Delhi, Pragati Maidan contains 16 halls and open display area of 10000 square meters. Annually, 70 exhibitions both National and International, exhibits are conducted in Pragati Maidan. One can witness 30, 00000 footfalls in the biggest Trade Fair ever conducted in Pragati Maidan namely, India International Trade Fair.
The Nehru Pavilion, Atomic and Defense Pavilion, etc are few among five permanent exhibits in Pragati Maidan. On the corner of Maidan nearby Mathura road, you can come across Matka Peer, a Shrine for Hazrat Sheikh Abu-Bakr, who is mystic migrated from Iran in 12th century.
