About Shakumbhri Devi Temple
Shakumbhari Devi temple located in Jasmour village of Saharanpur is at a distance of about 50 KMs from Saharanpur. You need at-least a day for the trip here and you won’t regret mapping out time for this temple of Shakumbhari Devi here. People come from a lot of places, to visit the temple and worship the goddess, who is a form of Goddess Durga and also to know the legends that are attached to this place. It is said that she killed Maishasura here and that she went on a penance (tapasya), for a period of 100 years. She came to be known as the goddess who delivered vegetarian food to those sages who came to her during her penance. This place is a must visit as the purity just touches you, and you have streams around here, that also engage your soul deeply to the place. You can easily reach here. Navratri is one time to visit here, as the functions and pujas are held very grandly.
