A hidden jewel in the Nilgiri range, the quaint Avalanche Lake is a stunning lake encompassed by thickly wooded area. A visit to Avalanche is a peep into the hidden treasure of nature. A land that is abundant in rich flora with blooming flowers like orchids and magnolias, this is a little known nature lover’s paradise.
Lake is an excellent option for Trout fishing. A trout hatchery nearby rents get fishing rods and other fishing accessories. The lake side can also be used a camp site by travelers but police may not allow it sometimes.
It’s best to visit this place during afternoon when there is maximum daylight, to see true colors of the lake. As the place is mostly isolated, visit in group or during day time only.
