Whiskey point is one of the best bays for surfers at the beginning and intermediate level. It is located 12 kilometres to the north of Arugam Bay. The bay is devoid of any rocks so it is quite safe for swimmers and surfers. The water rises up to a level of 1-4 metres making it very welcoming and gentle for the novice surfers. Also, non-surfers can get their surfing lessons and boards here. The beach is lively throughout the day peopled with surfers and erudite adventurers.
Nights are also very happening times with parties and music and dance, with people simmering down on the cool beaches. Catch the glimpses of the beautiful, soothing sunrise and sunset. While staying in Arugam Bay, make sure to visit the Arugam Bay point, which is ideal for experienced surfers, Kumana National Park to spot rare and migratory birds, and elephants and Komari beach which is calm and uncrowded unlike the Whiskey point.
