About Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple
In the small village of Sigandur, just northwest of the Sharavathi Sanctuary is the Chowdeshwari Temple, a Hindu place of worship. This vibrant temple sits next to the Sharavathi River and is frequented by visitors. This unique temple is said to be very powerful as the Goddess manifests herself here.
An Annual Festival (Jathre) is held on Makara Sankranthi day every year. Devotees throng the temple during the Jathre.
