About Jumeirah Archaeological Site

Excavated in 1960s, Jumeirah Archaeological Site dates back to the 9th -11th century stands in complete ruins today. It is situated between the Al Wahl Road and Jumeirah. Though it is of much importance to archaeologists, history lovers and students, it is not much an enjoyable site. There remains the ancient period tools, damaged houses, mosques, pottery works and some other stone artifacts, many of which are displayed in Dubai Museum too. It is a great place for studying the ancient life style. It was the stopping place for all the traders which falls on the route connecting Iraq and Oman. Prearrangement of the tickets has to be done to view this site.
