About Al Arsah Souk, Sharjah
Shop to your heart’s content at Al Arsah Souk, a traditional shopping market which is the oldest in this emirate. The old open market that once served as the trade center for traders pouring in from India and Persia, is now turned into a clean, luxurious, air conditioned market that still has the old charms. The narrow alleys of the market are lined up on either sides with garment and jewelry shops. Al Arsah contains 83 shops within it selling local as well as Indian, Persian and Pakistani items. Modern and antique jewelry, handicrafts, tea pots, handmade garments, Arabic bridal wears, perfume bottles, medical herbs, spices, pearls, carpets, rugs, wooden items, palm leaf baskets, pashmina shawls, old coins etc. The Souk is also famous for typical Arabic coffee and tea, the aroma of coffee from the Al Arsah Public Coffee shop draws a huge number of shoppers and coffee lovers.
