Conceptualized by Shri Mamata Banerjee, this park was constructed under the auspices of West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation. This place affords an impressive variety of ecosystems and green entertainment opportunities besides a host of gorgeous gardens. There is a 'cactus walk', 'a Chinese garden', 'a bonsai garden', 'a heliconia garden', 'a bamboo garden', 'a water garden', 'a tea garden', 'a butterfly garden'.....basically more gardens than you can finish counting in a day. Then there is a gorgeous ampitheatre, wildflower meadows, a sculpture court and a lakefront promenade. Boat rides were never more fun. Shikara, paddleboats or just common boats, you just name it and you're all set to conquer the massive lake. The multi-hued musical fountain with the movie on the water screen will transport you to wonderland. Come here at your own risk because there is a chance that you wouldn't want to leave.
