Freak Street is a short street located at the south of the popular tourist spot of Kathmandu Durbar Square. This quirky street comes with a quirky history of its own. It is said that long time back, hippies from different parts of the world traveled to Freak Street, the then Basantpur, in search of legal cannabis. Since people would come here to get high, this place of later renamed as freak street. It is one of the most popular tourist site. This place offers a lot of different tourist spots for eating, shopping, hanging out. Some people find it as just a one time go thing but others as to get connected with the old times.
