Doesn’t the name Rum Doodle sound catchy? Well the Rum Doodle Bar got its name from the book “The Ascent of Rum Doodle” - the World’s highest mountain, which is a hilarious description of mountaineering expeditions. Staying true to its name the restaurant has clientele such as mountain high- fliers, guides, trekkers, Everest climbers and basically anyone looking for a place with a funky name.
The place serves excellent Thamelish food and has a wonderful décor with pictures from the book adorning its walls. It has recently become a staging place for mountaineering expeditions. The interesting thing about this place is that behind the bar there are wooden boxes which bear the signatures of hundreds of Everest summiteers. Yes, it also has the signature of Sir Edmund Hillary!
The Rum Doodle Bar obviously has a good bar, is an outstanding party place and is huge enough to house large groups. The ambience of the place is very warm and nice and has a fine rooftop-terrace. If you happen to visit this place don’t miss out on the steaks, pasta and pizzas.
