About Bhimtal

Bhimtal is a serene town located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India and is 22 Kms from Nanital. It is named after Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, and is known for its picturesque Bhimtal Lake, surrounded by lush green hills and forests. Less crowded than its famous neighbor Nainital, Bhimtal offers a peaceful retreat with pleasant weather throughout the year. 

At a height of about 1,300 meters above sea level, this is a stunning summer retreat. Boats laze by the lakeside and mountains stretch up all around. Watch the mountain mists hang over the valley or the reflection of the flowers and mountains in the lake. Also located near the lake is a Bhimeshwar temple located on Garg Parvat and is a source of Gargi River.

Visit the Nal Damyanti tal which is a natural lake just 2 Km away from Bhimtal. And about 5Km away from Bhimtal is Sattal which is famous for lots of lakes. Also visit the Sayad baba ki Mazaar which is a place of religious importance for locals as well as is a place from where one can view the grandness of the town.
