About Kunchikal Falls
Kunchikal Falls on Varahi river in Shimoga, Karnataka fall from a height of more than 450 mts. They are considered as the highest 'tiered' waterfalls in India. A hydroelectric power plant constructed near the falls has resulted in reduced water flow into the falls. Rainy season is the best time to visit and experience the waterfalls. There are several small waterfalls surrounding Kunchikal falls, which makes for a beautiful scenery.
