About Shahpurkandi fort
This Shahpurkandi fort is located outside of town near the border of Pathankot city. It represents an important post, having good views over crossing of the river Ravi. The fort was built in the 1505A.D by Jaspal Singh and it was named after the emperor Shah Jahan. The fort is mostly in ruins now, but the site still represents and important visiting spot due to the Muslim temples and culture, including some very interesting tombs which are nearby. Fort is popular amongst locals for its vantage view of Ravi River and the temples there.
