About Karur
Karur famous as the Textile Capital of Tamil Nadu is located near Amravati River and is famous for the Pasupathieswarer Temple where a five foot tall Pasupathiswaralingam is installed. Another temple that sees a rush of pilgrims is the Kalyana Venkattaramasami Temple which is at Thanthoni. Also famous as south Tirupathi the idol of the Lord is placed on a high mound.
