About Colombo Fort
The general impression of forts is that they are majestic and colossal, however, the Colombo Fort is a clear exception. With no major timeworn structures present, the ‘fort’ simply comprises of a few British style buildings and new neighborhoods. The street is lined with noisy local stalls selling a variety of traditional items, and a few restaurants serving foreign foods. Hence, the Colombo Fort is no actual fort, but just a buzzing area where one can experience the daily fast-paced life of urban Sri Lankans.
