About Chaugan, Chamba
The center of town, The Chaugan is a cricket pitch of old. A large rectangular green area, surrounded, it’s the focal point of all activities in the town center. The name Chaugan means four-sides in Sanskrit. During the summer there are markets here and couples walk romantically around the grounds. It’s also home to sports in the weekly game of cricket and impromptu football matches.
